Bootloader Project Intelligent Assistant

One-stop assistant for Bootloader engineering: code Q&A, UT coverage generation, and IT case generation.

Core Pain Points

  1. High barrier to understanding project code: Bootloader projects involve multiple modules and engineering contexts; response speed and accuracy depend heavily on personal experience.
  2. Insufficient unit-test coverage: Filling line coverage and branch coverage for a given module requires analyzing code paths and writing a large amount of test code.
  3. Repetitive IT case authoring: Integration test cases need to be prepared by combining the module under test with existing templates; manual copy-edit-proofreading is prone to missing scenarios.

Solution & Technical Implementation

  1. Code interpretation: When the user asks a project-related question, the assistant analyzes the relevant code context and provides an answer.
  2. UT coverage generation: Once a test module is specified, automatically generates complete test code covering all lines and branches.
  3. IT Case Generation: Given the module under test and a test template, generates the corresponding integration test cases while preserving the project's existing case format.

Highlights

  • Contextual Q&A: Answers questions for a specific bootloader project rather than merely providing general knowledge.
  • Coverage-oriented: Generates UT code with line coverage and branch coverage as explicit targets.
  • Template-driven IT: Reuses existing templates, lowering the barrier to authoring integration test cases.

Business Value

  • Reduces the cost for new team members to understand bootloader code and locate engineering information.
  • Automatically generates line/branch-coverage tests and template-based IT cases, reducing omissions.
  • Code Q&A, test templates, and generation pipelines can be ported to other bootloader projects and related embedded projects.
